Tyne Metropolitan Trojans are a new basketball club that have recently become a part of the North Tyneside Basketball Development Plan. We are based at Tyne Metropolitan College and currently working in partnership with the local sports colleges providing outlets for those who are wanting to participate in basketball both recreationally and competitively. Since the club was formed we have ran a 3 on 3 tournament in the summer, a basketball camp at Christmas and in the February half term. We have put 17 people through the table officials course and 13 through the level 1 referee qualification. We are planning to host festivals and tournaments for those in the community of all ages over the next year, which includes a basketball camp in the Easter half term and in the summer holidays as well as the second annual 3 on 3 tournament in June.
